This session made me want to photograph couples sessions all the time.
Intimate sessions are always something special, because it's an honor to be let into such a private part of people's lives. This one was an honor because of that as well, but it was also special because Mark and Danielle have a ridiculous amount natural chemistry that easily came through on film. Even better, I didn't have to heavily direct - just some small prompts were enough to get Mark and Danielle to fall into poses that felt natural (because they were!).
Luckily, I wasn't alone in loving this session. Here are a few words from Mark (who is also a photographer!) on their experience:
Our session with Twila couldn’t have gone any better. Being two semi-introverted people at times, being in front of the camera isn’t the most comfortable setting for us, but Twila made us feel like a friend instead of a client.
Immediately into the session, she curated a playlist for us with our favorite songs. She directed us with prompts and cues that helped us focus on each other and not the camera. We even got to drink a little before to loosen up.
By the end of the session, we felt like we had known her our whole lives. My wife and I walked away thinking that we had just been on a date. We love our pictures, but we enjoyed the experience.
